How Do You Know When You Need to Get Grounded?

If you've only just come across the concept of grounding and how tremendously it helps in dealing with any learning difficulties, that's the excellent first step to success! But how will you know when you are ungrounded? What will let you know when getting grounded would help you?

Here are some signs of being ungrounded:

    * you may have a million thoughts rushing through your head at once and feel overwhelmed
    * you may feel spaced out, not really here, not really present on earth
    * you may be daydreaming a lot
    * your mind may be hazy, probably from many and fast-moving pictures
    * you may be very unclear and find it difficult to articulate thoughts
    * you may have a lack of balance, being clumsy, wobbly, losing core stability
    * you may have heart palpitations
    * you may have a static shock when touching an object
    * you may be forgetful
    * you may be confused
    * you may lack focus and concentration
    * you may comfort eat, smoke excessively, or be pulled into excessive engaging in other unhealthy habits
    * you may be stressed a lot of the time
    * you may have abrupt mood swings
    * you mat feel sick, dizzy, and overwhelmed
    * you may argue with people and not be able to get your point across
    * your senses may feel out of kilter: your hearing may be either poor or oversensitive
    * your sight my be inconsistent
    * your mind's eye / imagination may be unable to visualize / imagine things [which is at the core of literacy-related learning difficulties]
    * your speech may falter, you may stutter, slur, or mispronounce words, or even change your voice while typing or writing, you may be leaving out bits of words, misspell or mistype them frequently
    * you may have a lack of feeling and dislike being touched
    * you may have limited access to your internal dialog [ = the inner voice inside you that gives you encouragements and / or warnings]
    * ...and without those warnings you may get into difficult situation due to inappropriate behavior
    * some of your bodily organs may not work properly
    * your automatic nervous system may not be working properly
    * your immune system and circulation may be impaired
    * children with learning difficulties may display a lot of head banging / tantrums as a way of expressing their overwhelm
    * you may be twitching
    * people may develop tourettes over a long period of ungrounded time
    * the eyes may be flickering you may be very sensitive to noiseyou may be uncomfortable in your own body / skin and not know why
